A good intro to computers.  The goal is to create a “user friendly” comfort zone with popular software used in the business world and home computers.  This is a beginner course with lots of hands-on computer time. Topics include:  Windows XP Operating System Introduction to Windows Applications, File Management, Exploring the Internet, and Introduction to Microsoft Office applications

Students learn keyboarding/typing skills and work on speed and accuracy development using Ainsworth Keyboarding program. Class is for beginning keyboarding and those with some skills who wish to increase speed and accuracy or prepare for keyboarding testing.  Individual practice and skill development focus. 
No class during February school break

Introduction to Computer Applications from A to Z

This course teaches fundamentals of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite.  Microsoft Word:  edit and manage files, toolbars, rulers, menus and formatting.  Microsoft Excel: input formulas, numbers, create charts and print spreadsheets.  Microsoft Access:  databases, build tables, create and modifying simple forms and reports using Wizards.  Work with presentation graphics in PowerPoint
