This workshop will focus on the greatest opportunities for saving energy n the home and where to find technical and financial resources to get started.  Learn to be energy efficient and save money on energy bills. Button Up Workshops are designed to teach residents about the fundamentals of how homes lose energy, simple do-it-yourself measures for incremental energy savings, significant savings opportuni8ties associated with extensive energy retrofits, and cost effective solutions for saving energy and fuel, air and thermal barriers, and understanding what you can do yourself and when you need a professional. Workshop materials are provided by Efficiency Vermont. Workshop includes a one hour power point presentation delivered by a certified energy auditor and a DVD/Video “Simple weatherization measures to Button Up Your Home”.  The DVD is designed for individuals with basic handyperson skills and provides step-by=step procedures for weatherizing attic hatches or pull down attic stairs, air sealing plumbing and wiring penetrations in attic and basement, weatherizing bulkhead doors and other exterior doors, plugging air leaks along the box sills and installing an interior storm window and other tips. Copies of the DVD will be available to participants.  Information about the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program will also be distributed.
