Ohm;s Law, UGLYS, symbology, meters, power devices, lock out/tag out, circuits, 3 phase wiring, relays, resistors, wire types, fuses, overload protection, GFI/AFI protections, transformers, relays, VFDs |
| Print and Schematic Reading Fall Term |
Symbols and line diagrams, symbology, identifying devices, components, function, labeling, layout. |
| Computer Skills Fall Term |
Windows operating system, file management, Microsoft Excel (speadsheets, worksheets), Microsoft Outlook (task management) |
| Motor Controls Winter/Spring Term |
Electrical motor controls, switches and sensors, programmable controllers, motor starters, power supplies |
| Welding Technology for Manufacturing Winter/Spring Term |
MIG, TIG, AD/DC, Stick and Oxy-Acetylene welding, torches and plasma cutting |
| Intermediate/Advanced Industrial Electricity Winter/Spring Term |
Focus is on troubleshooting electrical systems, power supply and machine functions. Class takes place in the classroom and lab as well as in manufacturing facilities. |
| Mechanical Technology Winter/Spring Term |
Machine tools, measuring instruments, devices, gears, bearings, chains, belts, coupling, pumps, hydraulics, motors, sensors, instrumentation, control systems |
| Maintenance and Troubleshooting Winter/Spring Term |
Problem identification, root cause analysis, mechanical/electrical problems, use of system prints/schematics, error messages, documentation, reporting, preventative maintenance, additional resources. |
| Fundamentals of PLC-Programmable Logic Controllers Winter/Spring Term |

Classes meet once weekly for 42 weeks over 2 Terms from September 2011 to June 2012.
On Mondays , 8:30 to 11:30 AM or 4:30 to 7:30 PM
Fall Semester begins September 13, Mondays from 8:30 11:30 AM or from 4:30 to 7:30 PM
Winter Spring Semester begins January 23, 2012, Mondays from 8:30 to 11:30 or from 4:30 to 7:30 PM
The Vermont Training Program provides funding to cover part of the tuition.
Cost $800 per semester + texts and Vermont Training Program Grant.
Instructors, Larry Fadden, Harold Smith, Dave Albright, and maintenance personnel
from local manufacturing facilities.

Fundamentals of PLC and Maintenance & Technology
Falls Programs: Applied Math, Basic Industrial Electricity, Print and Schematics Reading, Computer Skills.
Winter/Spring Programs: Industrial Welding Intermediate/Advanced Industrial Electricity, Motor Controls, Maintenance & Troubleshooting, Mechanical Technology, Fundamentals of PLC- This is an add on module at extra cost
